Wazir Movie Review : Amitabh Bachchan , Faran Akhtar

Wazir :

Wazir is first major Bollywood release of 2016 directed by Bejoy Nambiar and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar, Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles . while Manav Kaul, Neil Nitin Mukesh, John Abraham is in the supporting roles. The starting shot is taken in Mumbai on 28 September 2014. John Abraham has never done a guest appearance in any film.  He did make a friendly appearance in his own production Vicky Donor a few years ago.

Two talented people like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Abhijat Joshi work on the script of this film and you wonder how can they go so wrong. The basic plot of Wazir is actually quite interesting but the lack of careful detailing ruins it. In most of the scenes that are expected to suck you into the story and make it gripping, the writers fail to build the anticipation as they lay their cards face up. Amitabh Bachchan And Faran Akhtar Was Second time sharing the screen wich is also a positive for the movie.

It is Action Thriller Kind Of Movie. According to News Idea of a Film Is Comes to The Director After The Murder Of a Badminton player Syed Modi In Lucknow. But Vidhu Vinod Chopra Says that Movie is completely Different From that Incident. Farhan Akhtar seems to grow as an actor with each film. As Danish, he does a brilliant job.

Amitabh Bachchan as Pandit Omkarnath does a fine job. His camaraderie with Farhan looks quite natural and they make up for some of the best scenes in the film. Aditi Rao Hydari has a minimal role and hardly any dialogues. She is expressive enough in the scenes that require her to emote as a grieving mother. Neil Nitin Mukesh scares the hell out of you with his evil antics. John Abraham is completely wasted in the film with a character that has no detailing. His cameo hardly makes a difference to the story.

He is suspended from the force after he botches up their operation to catch the terrorist responsible for his daughter’s death, alive. His Wife Rohana also blame danish for the death of her daughter. He even contemplates suicide, Suddenly He Meets  A Wheelchair Man Pandit Omkar Nath, Who Teaches Danish About Chess, love, life, Revenge. Panditji lost both his legs and his wife in an accident. Panditji and Danish plays chess together and they become a friend. Panditji asks him to investigate the death of his daughter, who is said to have died in a staircase mishap at the Welfare Minister’s house. Panditji doesn’t believe it is an accident and feels it’s a murder committed by the minister (Manav Kaul) himself. For the sake of his new friend, Danish decides to unofficially investigate the case, which is closed by the police. As the investigation intensifies, Panditji is attacked by a mysterious assailant called as Wazir, and Danish decides to protect his friend from further attacks.

Who is Wazir ? and will Danish be able to track him down? and uncover the truth behind Nina’s murder is what the story further unfolds into.

Suspense Of Story :

Wazir is held together by Amitabh Bachchan who shows why he is the Grandmaster of this game. With sly glances and shy smiles, wry jokes and escaped tears, Amitabh carves a character, mesmerizing you as he does Danish, very competently played by Farhan who delivers intensity and gentleness.

the best aspect of the film are the terrific performances by the lead actors. Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar deliver strong performances in spite of the obvious plot. Predictability and loose sense of detailing are the biggest giveaways for this thriller. Based on an intelligent game like Chess, the writers seem to have played their weakest moves. The film doesn’t feel like it’s directed by Bejoy Nambiar, as the film lacks his flair for technical finesse as seen in Shaitan and David.
