Many a times Bollywood actors are put into unnecessary controversy by media and fans alike. Film critique Rajeev Masand spoke to these leading Bollywood actresses on the subject of Bollywood facing flak for subject that is not their expertise.

These Bollywood Actresses Reveal Why Bollywood Celebrities Should not Be Anyone’s Role Models & They Make So Much Sense .

In this excerpt from CNN-IBN’s show some of the famous celebrities Deepika Padukone (Piku), Anushka Sharma (NH10), Kalki Koechlin (Margarita with a Straw) & Richa Chadda (Masaman) explained why for every actor to be an activist on everything is ridiculous and why as the citizen of India we shouldn’t expect every Bollywood celebrity to take notion on every hot-topic of the country.

In talk with this bollywood actreess (Deepika , Anushka , Kalki & Richa) they take a stand on this quetions :

  • Why we as an Indian look up to Bollywood actors & actress to take stand on everything?
  • Why do we crucify Bollywood celebrities if they make a statement that doesn’t suites our ideology?

With Aamir being crucified for expressing his opinions and Shah Rukh Khan being called an 'outsider' multiple times, Sonakshi Sinha being shamed on social media, and with several other actors at the receiving end of public as well as media flak, what we often forget is that these actors do not have a greater responsibility towards the country than we do. And it's clearly not their job to express opinions on everything that happens in our country.

Speaking on why it's not their job to take a stand on everything that happens around them, the leading ladies of Bollywood make a solid point on The Actresses Roundtable with Rajeev Masand. What Kalki Koechlin says summarises the whole debate for us and we definitely agree. She comment totally sums it up, “For every actor to be an activist on everything is ridiculous.”

  1. Well, I think because being an actress, you have to portray a good act. It means that you have to display your good persona since you'll be judged by what the public can see and hear. The public will take your words out of context because they idolize you in some way. But that's not supposed to be the case, actress or no actress, we are all the same, we are all human after all, we make mistakes. The only difference is their job, it is their duty after all but we have to think that these actresses have also a personal life. This is a good take on idealism as I am looking for cheapest essay writing service about this topic.
